About

Dr. Carnes is a Georgia man at heart. He completed undergrad at the University of Georgia in 2010, received his MD from Georgia Regents University in the Medical College of Georgia in 2014, and completed his year-long Internship at Augusta University in 2015. He was actually a member of the first class of doctors in Augusta University’s Medical Partnership Internal Residency Program, which he completed in June 2019. Dr. Carnes has presented his own research for the Society of Behavioral Medicine and the American Urological Association and he is also a certified Diplomate of the American Board of Urology. Throughout his years of education, and still today, Dr. Carnes dedicated much of his time to community and leadership involvement, including volunteering in developing countries through the Manna Project International from 2008-2010, teaching middle school children anatomy and physiology through the Duke TIPPS Program from 2012-2014, and serving on the Resident Committee of the Southeastern Section of the AUA from 2016-present. In the midst of all his accomplishments, Dr. Carnes also has time to stay active in his hobbies, which include music (playing guitar, piano, and percussion), creating small furniture woodworking projects using tools he inherited from his grandfather, and mastering new recipes with his wife whenever they can.
