Dr. Samuel W. Belknap is a native of Mississippi. He received a B.A. in Economics from Washington and Lee University. Prior to attending medical school he served as a corps member in Teach for America's Eastern North Carolina region, where is also held multiple leadership positions. He holds a master's degree from Eastern Virginia Medical School and received his medical degree from the Brody School Medicine at East Carolina University where he received an academic scholarship. While in medical school Dr. Belknap was elected to the Gold Humanism Honor Society as well as the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society. He completed his general surgery internship and urology residency at the University of Kentucky in Lexington, Kentucky. He was urology chief resident in 2017 and completed his residency in 2018. He has published articles in professional journals and presented his research at national professional meetings. He is certified in Robotic Surgery, and a member of Alpha Omega Alpha, the American Urologic Association and the American College of Surgeons. Dr. Belknap enjoys time with his family, being outdoors and is a lifelong Atlanta Braves fan.
